Employers already know your goal is to get a job, so ditch the objective statement and instead write a summary that compels them to read on.
Here's a nice piece that ran on CNN a few months back .... emphasizing a lot of the things we teach in our resume and interviewing classes.
Dice, a website aimed at tech jobs, emphasizes that your resume will either be a) set aside for future reference, or b) pitched within about 10-30 seconds. So, the key is brevity. Interesting piece.
