ECP Workshop #1: Orientation and Personal Responsibility

 Matthew Cox is MAM’s Director of Family Education Programs, overseeing employment services, English as a second language, immigration/citizenship, legal, family counseling, and other helping programs. Raised in the Clear Lake area he recently returned to Houston after living in New England for the past 13 years. He has more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit management and leadership. His areas of expertise include organizational and leadership development, performance coaching and management, development/fundraising, quality system and change management.

Bernie Vazquez  is the Financial Education Coordinator at MAM, he teaches client-driven  classes and individual sessions in which clients and their families work to reach their goals related to improving their financial well-being.

Born and raised in Tampico, Mexico he has a Business Administration degree from Universidad Valle del Bravo, a Community Health Worker Trainer Certificate and is a Certified Translator with the American Translators Association. He worked for 10 years as Education and Outreach Manager  with local non-profits and the last 8 years as an Interpreter/Educator with Harris Health Systems.
