Computer Training -- Introduction to the Computer

This session is for clients with little or no familiarity with the use of a personal computer.  In this session you will learn

  • The major components of the computer, and what they do
  • Some terminology that you'll run across in using a computer
  • How to turn the thing on
  • What are the various things you can do with a personal computer
  • Keyboarding and mousing

This session is recommended as a building block for our rotating Wednesday classes on email, internet searches, and internet job applications.

Computer-image.jpgThe class has a maximum of five and is taught by MAM Volunteer Russell Montgomery and MAM Computer Literacy Associate Daniel Leal.  We think you will find it helpful, especially if the thought of working with a computer is intimidating to you.

The class is taught in English.  Interested clients should contact Daniel Leal ([email protected]) or Yolanda Bing (713-574-7545, [email protected]) to sign up.  Space is limited to the first six (6) clients who sign up.

If you are interested but not a registered client, your first step should be to attend a New Client Orientation.  Orientations are held weekday mornings at 10:30am, plus Monday through Thursday afternoons at 1:30pm.
