This position reports to the Budget and Cost Accounting Manager, the Financial Analyst will perform various activities in support of the Financial Services Department. The Financial Analyst will administer the budget, cost accounting, financial reporting, and fixed assets financial electronic systems. In addition, the analyst will provide reporting, analysis, and continuous quality improvement of the financial system processes. Meets monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, yearly, and ad hoc financial reporting deadlines, including but not limited to the Board, DSRIP, Infrastructure & Special Project Accounting, and Fund Balance reports. Expertise in manipulating large databases via T-SQL to complete state required cost reports (e.g. MEI, CAM, CR). Relies on extensive experience, communication, and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, having a wide degree of creativity and latitude. Achieving these aims, the Financial Analyst will maintain a high degree of professional ethics, integrity, professionalism, customer service, and teamwork. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from an accredited four-year college or university. MBA/CPA preferred. 6+ years of experience of electronic financial data systems administration; 6+ years of experience completing highly complex financial and clinical reports; 6+ years of experience facilitating audits and desk reviews; 6+ years of experience completing and submitting Texas state reports to HHSC.
