David Lewallen was born in Williamsport IN. He attended and graduated from Butler University with a BA in History/Political Science and Religious Studies. Upon completing his course work at Butler, he attended Eden Theological Seminary, in St. Louis, Mo., where he received a Master of Divinity, in 1970.
A career change took him to development work first with Family Service Center, then with the Brookwood Community and finally at St. Thomas High School. David was chosen to head up the federally funded demonstration project to work with dual disordered persons. He worked to bring together agencies that provided Mental Health Services and Addiction Treatment from 1998-2002. In, April, 2005, he became the Executive Director of the Coalition of Behavioral Health Services. He coordinated a federal grant to build a countywide data infrastructure for Underage/Binge Drinking. David retired and became a volunteer at MAM in the Employment Services Program.
